I am starting to do silk screen printing and I need a decent printer to print the Art work. I am mostly going to be printing in Black and White, but will occasionally need to print basic color photos as well. I know I can spend about $150.00 or so. I would like an all-in-one (fax not needed) with the separate color/black ink tanks. I have seen a lot to chose from but don't know what is better. Any suggestions would help, but personal experience is better. Thanks

I have owned Apple, HP, Epson, and Lexmark printers. I now favor Canon however. They are not as widely sold or as well known, but for the money, I think they are awsome. Small separate ink tanks and easy on the wallet.

I have used a variety of printers over the years, but I think Epson printers really take the cake. They come with excellent softwrae, and, unlike the Canon printer I used (and I believe they still do this) which can only tell you if you have ink or not, Epson printers tell you exactly how much ink is left. This can also bite you in the bum - if one cartridge runs out, you can't print.

Don't buy a Lexmark or HP printer - they don't use sperate cartridges and their quality is terrible (Lexmark's in particular - only buy Lexmark laser printers), and Canon's are all right if treated properly, but I will always use Epson inkjets.

I have a Stylus C67 (discontinued), it's not a multifuncion, but nonetheless a great printer. The Epson Stylus CX3900 is a great multifunction. It retails for around $99 without cable.
