It depends on the people and the occasions. At first, I' am shy because meeting new people is a bit scary but once I feel comfortable and open up, I' am not shy anymore.

I use to be really shy but the older I got, the less shy I was. I figured, you stand out a lot more when you're shy and if you're more out going, you blend in better. My daughters are shy and I am trying to get them out of it. Whatever you do....don't let your shyness keep you from doing things in your life that you will regret later. Have fun and just keep saying to yourself...."Who cares if people are looking at me.....all the more reason to smile!" Good-luck!

I'm incredibly shy - battled it my entire life. I've grown a lot, but am still shy and struggle with it.

I'm very shy and quiet around strangers and teachers, but once I get to know people better I'm funloving and talkative. This is why I never talk above a whisper or say much when I'm around teachers and strangers but I am always willing to talk around my friends. lol

I am VERY quiet and I suppose in many instances I am 'shy' but I can also be very confrontational when attacked....
It really boils down do 'emotional problems' a la Donnie Darko.
