To start with, the American people did not vote to end this war, and even if they did it would be impossible for them to do so. If America stops fighting our enemies will laugh at us while they kill more of us, and unlike liberals, Bush knows this.
You should remember that Bush got more votes than any Presidential candidate in United States history.
We want to finish this war so muslims will remember to not attack us again.
The first enemies to attack Americans engaged in peaceful activity after the Unites States became a country were muslims from north Africa who, like our current islamofascist enemies, were terrorists, thieves, and murderers following the example set by muhammad himself. This is just the latest chapter in the evil history of islam.
Wake up and smell the jihad...

218-212 was the vote.
1. Most mature adults understand the idiocity of setting a timetable to an unfinished conflict, so no, he should stick to his principals and not flip flop in the wind like the democratic party has been doing, (vote for war!, take out Sadam!, we know he has weapons of mass destruction!.....oh, wait....difficulty achieving that? public dissatisfaction?, stop the war! Bush lied! we were against it all along! vote for us!)
2. Peace in the American cities? are you talking about inner city violence? THAT is the result of people squirting out kids and having no clue or interest in actually raising them, (Blame Bush! We need more money!!! that will stop gang bangers and drug addicts).
3. Schools? we spend more $$ on schools than we need to. money doesn't fix these kinds of problems, it stems from lack of parenting also.
4. Health care? Do you want "Free" healthcare too? well, the way that works is even worse than health insurance, because then all responsible people have to pay, not only for themselves, but for the ever increasing number of irresponsible-non contributing freeloaders. Guess what happens when the freeloaders outweigh the responsible people? Crash
5. Isalmic Jihaad has been at war with us for over 25 years, we have finally responded. It isn't an easy war, because we aren't going to go "Hitler" on all Muslims and erradicate them, (like I assure you, they would do if they had our military might), so we need to be patient and deal with the hardship of losing 3000+ men over 4 years of "war".

I would hope that the President of the United States of America, our Commander-in-Chief would not make a decision like that on the whim of people who simply want the war to end. I was there twice...news flash...everyone wants the war to end! Our President is elected to make decisions based on information only He should have. The more public congress wants to make it because they belong to an opposing political faction the less effective his role becomes. Keep praying for peace, sunshine, and lolly pops along with me; then wake-up and see what ignoring this problem did on 9/11!

He might desire to help SK arm up the DMZ and prepare to attack. Have some predator drones overhead with fighter jets on call waiting to take out the artillery and missile bases to with a bit of luck guard a number of Seoul. He shouldn't strike first because of fact China does no longer like it. yet making waiting for a speedy and violent counter attack might desire to be achieved. he will probable provide a harsh speech and insist Russia and China fairly to reign in NK. the two way, South Korea will finally end up screwed economically as they are going to might desire to take interior the ravenous NK electorate. This, alongside with this being in China's decrease back backyard is why no pre-emptive strike might desire to be achieved.

That man DREAMS war. He will never hear the cease fire. At least, he will do his damnedest to prevent Congress from any attempts at ending the war. This is bordering on obsession.

There is no mandate. Look at what actually happened. Why is it that the Democrats will not cut off funding? They have the votes. It should be a slam dunk.

The President of the United States listens to his conscience and his heart. I truly believe that he sincerely believes that he is doing the right thing...and sometimes it is hard to do the right thing when there is so much pressure.
When kids in high school put peer pressure on others to drink and drug, who of them has the guts to stand and do the right thing?
When women are beaten and killed, who has to guts to stand up and say it is enough?
When children are abused and killed, who has the guts to speak up and tell others to stop?
Countless people have stood mute as children are abused and killed. Other have watched women being raped and killed, and watched out of their back windows and did nothing.
Hundreds of people watched as a large, muscular man attacked a helpless young woman. She was assaulted, and jumpted to her death off of a bridge for fear of that man.
Hundreds of thousand, including countless Americans, including the Clintons, silently watched as 800,000 Rwandans were hacked to death with machetes, and did nothing.
Those same hundreds of thousands watched as thousands were gassed to death by Saddam...and just shook their fingers at him.
Hundreds of thousands of defenseless men and women were tortured, killed, and raped by Saddam and his sons, and we did nothing.
George W. Bush saw all of these injustices and decided that in his heart, these types of acts need to be stopped, and the perpetrators stopped.
He is a man of his convictions.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
He didn't say, just in the US, he didn't just say, Alabama. He said ANYWHERE, and EVERYWHERE.
He was for global justice, and peace...not just in our backyard.
