Aww That is awful, i feel bad for you because there is really not too much you can do unfortunatley. I feel thankful my baby isn't doing that. If i were you i would try a pacifier whenever he is getting ready to cry. If your baby is teething i would also try giving him a cold washcloth to suck on or even a teething ring. This could be the problem he is crying if he is cutting teeth. Other than that, i don't really know what else to tell you. Good luck, and i'm sure once he is old enough to realize he is hurting himself when he bites his tounge than he will stop.

i have the same problem!!! my daughter is 19 months old and she just wont stop. Her tougne bleeds and i tell her to stop but she keeps doing it. i swear it looks like a part of her tougne is missing now. Her dentist says he cant do anything until her two last teeth come in than he would think of MAYBE putting in a mouth guard. We have taken her to the emergency about 4 times when it wouldn't stop bleeding and all they say is it will heal and she will eventually stop doing that. I don't know wut to do anymore i cant wait till she has no tougne anymore!!!

Eventually he'll develop the understanding that biting his tounge hurts and he will stop doing it.

well you can tell him to stop or if that doesn't work just ignore him when he cries and that usually works.
