Now, don't say my dad is wrong. He may be, but that's not the point. I listened to "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen in reverse and I picked up "It's fun to smoke marijuana". I told my dad about my findings and he said doing something like that is the devil's work. I read various articles about backtracing and reverse speech. (At least I think it was called "backtracing".) It's kind of bothering me and I wanted some more information on this "phenomenon", as I have the temptation to go through all of my digital media (audio and video clips from my camera, and all my music) to find subliminal messages. Should I? Honest answers, please. Your help is greatly appreciated.

There are entire websites dedicated to the topic. Here's one for ya.. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/backmask/

It's an interesting topic, while I think some are done on purpose, I think many are just odd accidents.

I will admit the Led Zep one has given me the creeps on occasion..

Do I think its the devil? No, I think its random. You can also find examples on Christian music...so....

A word is an abstraction. Abstractions are understood by your feelings. To take a collection of words such as a song and play it backwards to find some other meaning is more a intellectual game than anything else.Meaning goes out the window. No one can think backwards. Take word by word as it is given and let the meaning come to you. Enjoy what you find and go on.

Now, they call them Easter Eggs when they bury stuff in programs.

Then, it was the audio techs who played insider games. One of the old ones was imbedded in Kates Smith's God Bless America. It spoke of her rather corpulant body.

There isn't any devil or satan......they are personna's made up to scare people into believing in the concept of evil as sin.

If you play a country song backwards, your wife comes home, your dog comes back to you and your stolen pick up truck will be sitting in the driveway when you wake up in the morning.

It's the power of suggestion. If you listen to it (as it mostly sounds like fzzzzzssstssszztf) and you hear some stuff, if someone tells you what they hear chances are you're going to hear that same thing too.
