I have a Dell Dimension 2400 (shut up) and I need some memory. Right now I am looking at "SUPER TALENT 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory." Will that work? The whole DDR SDRAM thing confuses me. I know I need DDR, but I thought SDRAM was different? Aaaaaaaaah! Thanks!

Also... is around $70 a good price for this?

Yes that is the type of RAM you need. I checked it on the configurator at www.newegg.com. I never heard of SuperTalent so I couldn't tell you anything about them. newegg has PNY RAM for $75. Personally, I'd spend the extra $5 to get a name brand.

Ok I'm going to be very helpful.
You can use any ram as long as its within specifications
So far we know you need 184-Pin OK
So far we know you need PC 3200 OK just use the 3200 ;)
OK you need to know the volts 1.8V maybe?
OK you need to know cas latency maybe 2.5CL maybe?
OK I'm going to guess unbuffered and unregistered?
"(When you know these things match them to the specifications and you can guarantee it will work!)"

Guess what this is what you need. Gee am I nice?
184-pin DIMM
DDR PC3200
CL=3
UNBUFFERED
NON-ECC
2.6V
64Meg x 64
Any ram with these specifications will work.
Good luck hope this helps!

As the previous poster stated, you can only use a maximum of 2 GB. Your PC has two slots, 1GB max in each.

Your machine supports PC3200 & PC2700.

Outpost.com has some Kingston HyperX for 74.99

On your Dell you memory maximum is 1GB. You can also use PC 2700 (DDR333). I recommend going to pricegrabber.com. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_attrib.php/page_id=43/popup2[]=9:210/popup4[]=20:237/popup1[]=210:207

You'll find a better deal here.
