Easter is the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us that on the third day following Jesus’ crucifixion, there was a great earthquake. The stone was rolled back from the door of the tomb. Some of the women, among the most devoted of His followers, came to the place with spices “and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.”

Angels appeared and said simply, “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.” (Luke 24:3–6.) Nothing in history equals that dramatic announcement: “He is not here, but is risen.”

The fact of our Lord’s resurrection is based on the testimonies of many credible witnesses. The risen Lord appeared to several women, to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, to Peter, to the Apostles; and “after that,” as Paul reported, “he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once. … And last of all he was seen of [Paul] also.” (1 Cor. 15:6, 8.)

Throughout the forty days subsequent to His resurrection, the Lord manifested Himself at intervals and gave instructions pertaining to the kingdom of God.

The Savior told His followers that He must soon ascend to His Father in heaven. As the time of His ascension drew near, the Lord, in that last solemn interview, gave His parting instructions to His disciples.

When Christ and the disciples had gone “as far as to Bethany,” where Mary, Martha, and Lazarus lived, He “lifted up his hands, and blessed them.” (Luke 24:50.) When He had spoken, He was taken up until a cloud received Him out of their sight. As the Apostles stood gazing toward heaven, two personages clothed in white apparel appeared. They spoke to those assembled, saying, “Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:9–11.)

Worshipfully and with great joy, the Apostles returned to Jerusalem. The Lord’s ascension was accomplished. Now the disciples began to comprehend more fully some of His last words: “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33.) Because of Christ, the grave had no permanent victory. Death was overcome!

The Resurrection of Christ is the heart and soul of Catholicism. Easter is the day we celebrate the fact that Jesus rose from the dead. On Easter, the season of Lent ends. Christ showed the world that He is the savior.
At the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday through the Octave of Easter, the Catholic Church celebrates this Easter feast. Catholics often give devotion to the Divine Mercy. Jesus asks us to ask for His mercy since He opened the gates of Heaven.

On the second Sunday of Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday. Starting on Good Friday and ending on Easter Saturday, Catholics are encouraged to say the Divine Mercy Novena.

Catholics should also go to confession before Divine Mercy Sunday and receive Holy Communion on that day.
There are two exceptions to the usual sections (Liturgy of the Word and the Eucharist) of the Mass. The Sequence is said and instead of the Profession of Faith, the congregation renews their baptismal promises.

Jesus Christ was born to Mary. She was engaged, and an angel told her she was pregnant with Jesus. Mary was a virgin so this was a miracle itself. Jesus was born, and grew to be a loving and kind man.

His message was simple, but many found it hard to do and still do. The message is to love each other. Jesus performed loving miracles. He healed people physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Jesus had many friends, and He chose twelve apostles. He also had many disciples.

When Jesus was in His early thirties, He was charged for proclaiming He was the Son of God. Even though Jesus never hurt anyone, people turned against Him. His punishment was crucifixion.

Before He was crucified, Jesus was led through town and people teased him. He was beaten as well. Jesus died on the cross after three hours. His body was wrapped and put in a tomb. On the third day, like He said, Jesus rose from the dead. He remained on Earth for forty days until He returned to Heaven.

A time to celebrate Jesus' love for humans by willingly laying down his life as a sacrifice for us. By doing so, he freed us from any debt we might have because of our sins. He then, after being in a tomb guarded by Roman soldiers, was raised from the dead. Easter celebrates Him being alive.

However, people seek to remove God from everything so they've made it into a "spring celebration" with bunnies, eggs, chickens, flowers, etc. I'm not against having these things and decorating and stuff but as long as you keep in mind the real reason for the day!

Check out a church in your area and ask around there! I'm sure they'll be able to answer your questions!!

Happy Easter! He has risen indeed!

Easter is an ancient springtime ceremony that Christians took over to celebrate the death and birth of the fictional character Jesus. The first Easter was celebrated around 2400 BCE. The word Easter comes from the German goddess Ostara, the goddess of the dawn. This is why churches today hold sunrise ceremonies. in Mediterrainian regions barley is harvested this time of year which is why a number of myths exist about different Gods being sacrificed being associated with the grain harvest. Jesus is the latest of these sacrificial grain gods to be celebrated at this time of year. Remember, Jesus didn't actually exist.

Easter is a celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Christian messiah. The Bible says that Jesus was crucified and died on a Friday and rose from the dead on Sunday. We celebrate the Friday as Good Friday (even though there is no definitive proof that this is the actual day) and Easter is the Sunday he arose.

properly, initially it grew to become into called Resurrection Day, because of fact of Jesus becoming from the ineffective on the 0.33 day after dying for each guy or woman's sins. yet later, while human beings began to unlike what Reserrection Day grew to become into approximately, replaced the call to Easter, and tried to completely exchange the holiday to something else: bunnies and eggs. Haha, to no longer be depressing to all of the little teenagers and egg hunts (I used to do those too. They have been nonetheless somewhat exciting), yet why might somebody randomly make a holiday celebrating bunnies and eggs (even in spite of the indisputable fact that I admit i like them the two!)? I grew up in a Christian kinfolk, and all of us examine the Resurrection tale on Easter day. We rejoice Christ becoming from the ineffective after dying for each guy or woman's sins. you may examine the tale in Matthew 27-28. that's a beatiful tale. Jesus loves you!

Easter is when we remember how Jesus Christ died a terrible death to save us from Hell. He died on a cross, rose from the grave, and now he lives in my heart because I believe in Him!

God bless!
