Mate, this passage is really not a very good piece of writing. Where did you get it?

I wouldn't use firstly, secondly, thirdly, fourthly etc...it isn't very imaginative writing. And in this piece, they are wrong too. No. 4 has to have a contrast connective. The sentence which (No.7) is in doesn't really make sense. The last sentence doesn't make much sense either.

However, if I were you, I would do it like this.
