I thought I lived in the suburbs but it's changed and now I live in the hood which is slowly turning into a section 8 ghetto because when people move into my hood, they leave once they've destroyed their cribs and no one else wants to clean up their filth. And so, I'd say the appropriate term would be that I am surrounded by section 8ers and they've turned my vintage neighborhood into a slum.
