Period Pointers:

Bright Red Blood: Fresh blood - usually a broken vein.
Dark Red Blood: Normal
Brown Blood: Old blood. Its been in your uterus a litte longer than it should have been. Still normal

Now, if you're trying to get pregnant, miss a month, and then get your period again, this is what you should watch out for:

A period that starts off brown and turns normal red again.
-- That shows that your egg was fertalized but then became unfertalized due to an accident. The brown blood is the blood that was covering the uterus and getting ready for the fetus.

Sometimes women's periods can come out brownish when you're having a light flow. The uterus sheds and towards the end when it's drying up, the blood can be brownish. It's nothing to worry about, as it's quite common. I doubt you are pregnant if you are having any kind of period. But to be sure, why not take a pregnancy test and find out? It's possible to spot a little and be pregnant, although this usually means there's a possible problem with the pregnancy. But overall I would say, don't worry about it. Just take the test. If it's positive, go see your Doctor and tell him or her what's going on. Good luck.

a brown period is usually "old" blood that is being extruded from the uterus. its usually blood that did not come out during your last period. considering your having a baby im sure you guys are having sexual intercourse which may be the reason for the brown blood because the most common reason of brown blood is through sexual intercourse and irritation of the cervix that causes a little "tear" resulting in brown blood

best chances for getting pregnant :
find out your ovulation period and to do so subtract 14 to 16 days from the date of your next period. This is an approximation and may not be exact for every woman. These calculations may not be accurate if your cycle is less than 21 days long or more than 35 days long, or if your menstrual cycle is irregular from month to month.

brown is completely normal since it is 'old blood' as far as your next period since it is new it is hard to say. most girls are on then off a few months when they first start. just always be prepared, because nothing sucks more than not having a pad or tampon when you need it.

If you have unprotected sex, you're pregnant. End of story.
