Your menstrual cycle is the time from when one period starts until the time when the next period starts. That means the first day of real bleeding. So if your period started on February second, and your next period started on March second, you would have a 28 day cycle.

It's not how long your period is, it's the days between the start of each period, so like if you started February 10th and the next month you started March 11, it would be 29 days. Make sense?
