In the 15th century someone named Sahagun ( a missionary ) first recorded the use of peyote by the Chicimaga Indians.
Peyote, which is a form of cactus, may well have been around for thousands of years. We know that Native Americans, in both the northern and southern american continents, used it for at least 1890 years before the arrival of the Europeans
