The ones that really bothered me were the ones who reported for duty at the nursing home I worked in with bad colds. They were supposedly medical professionals who knew how susceptible the elderly sick patients were to pneumonia. Younger, generally healthier people can fight off the effects of a cold much better than the elderly who are medically fragfile. Any medical professional who goes to work sick should be sent home immediately by their supervisor before they have any contact with a patient.

I know what you mean. A friend of mine was sick, but she came to school anyway. That evening, I had a REALLY bad sore throat and a runny nose. I had to miss like five days of school right before the end of the quarter, so I had to make up all of the work in like two days.

Hey, i know what you mean. I miss millions of days of school even if they try to get me into trouble for missing because i don't want to infect people. Then i go back to school and get sick again. I'm an A student and i miss when i have to. I wish people could do the same.

Totally, they will just transfer their illnesses to you! They shouldn't even be going to school, because, sometimes the illnesses get stronger when you are in class instead of sleeping in bed. Fact is, if sick people stay home, it is better for everyone.

in the world of grown-ups (as i am in) we deal with the same concept, of sick co-workers coming in to work all the time. i think you should seriously consider getting a policy in play about attendance and being sick. meaning, if someone looks and sounds really sick, you could be allowed to report that person to the office anonymously, and they would be required to go home the rest of the day, without their attendance record being scorched. see what i'm saying? do something about this problem, instead of sitting on here complaining about it. talk to your school officials about it.

I also hate that the kids don't stay home when they are sick. My grandson keeps getting sick being around all the kids coughing and runny noses. Please moms when they are sick let them get better before you send them back to school!

It never stops. People come to work that way too, and you only catch something right before the weekend starts...
