The question does sound racist. Everyones cursive is different and there is going to be some writing that we wont be able to understand but that doesn't mean that we can't read cursive. I just depends on the persons penmenship. And it is not just mexicans that can have this problem, anyone can. We all learn the same type of cursive but as we grow we change it to the way we want and that is what make makes cursive a unique writing. So you are right in my eyes!

Logical question, maybe. Most people know what they are taught. In this case your friend's question was really, are mexicans schooled on the how to's of cursive writing. Most are, if they attend school in the United States. If they aren't learning it here, maybe they are else where. Guess it's a case by case scenerio.

No matter what the ethnicity, if you were taught cursive, you should be able to read it. If you were never taught cursive, you'll probably have a hard time reading it. For example, if you were taught how to write characters (Chinese or Japanese), you should be able to read them, but it looks foreign to people who were not taught how to read characters.

She sounds racist, she probably only makes firends at her school, and they all know how to read.
Yes you are right. Though it is true more mexicans dont know how to read, in my opinion. Its just what you concider Mexicans. Over there in Africa hardly any of them know how to read. They are Africans not Mexicans, but in my family its black or white..
In any case, your right.
