where would one feel more pressure working for; some regular boss or if that boss is a family member which happens to be my situation right now and it's not a good one. An example that my old boss would be something like "Hurry up already your making me look bad", and that was in retail. My cousin who I'm working with as a carpenter tells me to hurry up and I barely have a week working there, but in the heat of the moment I felt like answering back to him. What I mean is I wanted to raise my voice because he was scolding me or if at best put my foot down and tell he's crossing the line. what should i do give me some advice thanks.

Better to work for a stranger .. BUT .. You need the experience so bite your tongue for a year or more to gain the status that goes with a years experience. Then you can apply to other bosses with some good experience on your resume. If your cousin asks why you left, tell him you wanted to work for somebody else for a year to see what you can learn from them. After a year, you can tell who you really want to work for.. or apply to somebody else. I'd prefer any stranger because he probably would pay for medical insurance and retirement eventually.

Family members are for good times and social gatherings. At the work place, they put on a different hat and therefore you have to put on a different hat too. It doesn't matter if your boss is a relative or not, he's still the boss. Would you be offended if a regular boss would call your attention to how slow your work progress is? Of course not! So why would you be offended if your cousin (your boss now) is saying the exact same thing? Think about it, okay? Be cool.

How is he crossing the line?
When on the job you have a professional relationship. He's not scolding you he's telling you .... time limit move your ****.
Treating you like cousin Jeb isn't going to get him payed or you payed as well.
I'm sure that the customer isn't going to be happy if what was suppose to be done in less that a week ends up taking 1 week or more.
You have a choice either be professional at jobs or quit.

I have an uncle that is a contractor. One day i stopped by his worksite and he sent me to pick up a bucket of chicken for the crew. As soon as they ate, they had to get back to work. I think their lunch break was all of 10 minutes. then one guy was slowing around and my uncle kicked him in the butt. by the way he has a size 15 work boot. count your blessings and don't talk back, you have it made. you don't want him to talk to you like you are a baby do you? men are like that when they are working, it comes out in the sweat.

get another job...you're always gonna wanna bump heads with a family member who gets on your case, no matter how much you love/like them...(it seems more irritating comming from family than it does from a stranger...)
