& then sueing a white person for a "racial slur" while they continue to call their best friend that as a friendly greeting?

Not being racist; not all black people do that of course, & I'm sure the ones that don't are annoyed. I'm jus speaking for the ones that do. Ughhh!

Of course people are going with the "its not the same" argument; but I will stick to my opinion that it is first class hypocrisy. =]

Well, I' am African American and I think using the N word is highly ignorant and shows lack of class and education. It is not appropriate for any race to use because of the negative associations with the word and the stereotypes behind it. But some people do use it as a friendly greeting, look at how many women call their best friends "hoe", "tease", or "*****" playfully. When a white person uses the N word, you never know if they are playing or being serious, hence why black people don't call their white friends white or trail park trash. It is just a thin line between joking and being serious. Finally, I don't think nobody should use a term regarded to a particular race or skin color, we should support humanity.

I don't use that word. I find it idiotic, but their defense is that it's okay to call each other that, but not for a white person to. I don't get it either. The N word has turned into hello in the AA community.

do whites get offended when one white calls another white trash or trailer trash? do any whites call each other crackas? I've always been curious about that because everyone makes a big deal about blacks and the n-word but no one ever touches this subject.

Not that it is right, but I talked to a friend of mine that is black and she said it is like you being upset with your mother. you can call your mother a pain in your *** but don't let anyone else call her that or you will take them out. Black person saying that to another black person is not a bad as another race saying it to them. They also pronounce it a little different.

Really! If they keep calling themselves a term that is tied to a worse time, they aren't making much progress to equality. For the record, I think they are equal, I'm just saying.

Well, to them its a way of respect.
A fellow african-american.
Its not racist of course, since they are black.

I always wondered the same thing.
I guess its just like saying 'dude' for us to them.

Ask someone?
I'd love to know the answer.

I agree, blacks shouldn't use the N word. But whites don't use it the same way blacks do. When a white man says the N word it's the same as me calling you "YOU WHITE TRASH CRACKER" not "MY DOG" Whites say the N word out of racism not innocence.
