People has different point of view regarding on what is really the meaning of life. The meaning of life to me is to serve God and follow His will. I have faith that solely base on the bible so as a basis I will quote some verses coming from the bible.
Long time ago a wise man said this “Ecclesiastes 1:2 -14 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.
I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. “
If we will read the entire book of Ecclesiastes we will see that Solomon searching for “what is the purpose” or ”the meaning of life”. He do everything what his heart desire/wants but in the end he got one conclusion for what is the meaning or purpose of life: And he wrote “Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
And I believe in what Solomon’s believe in.

the meaning of life....we will all DIE, that is a fact, that is what i know. all memory of us will be wiped from the earth and our existence will have been meaningless, and in your death you will know nothing more than when you were born into this world except that you are NOT HAPPY. even preists will falter in death, they will question their faith and die and thier existnce will be over as well. it is the fate of all people.
this is what i know, this is not what i want to believe. i think that to find a way to end this trend of death and unhappiness you must seek help from others.
you alone can not even hope to attain "enlightenment" or happiness really, you can attain a temporary illusion of happiness but nvr the real thing. to find the meaning of life you must seek out the help of others.
even jesus had apostles and im sure that he was the occasional student as well as teacher. admist your deepest soul searching etc. each individual can not discover all of lifes mysteries or questions, you have to learn from one another.
for example, this article could be my peice of the puzzle of life. i give my opinion and then you really take it to heart and ask your closest friends what they think about life, no matter how awkward it may make you feel. cause there is a reason why you like them and spend time with them.
they can help you, people can help you, you cannot do it alone.
sigh...i rambled a bit there. but one more thing, smoking marijuana alters your thinking and even sharpens your thinking in certain fields. i come to realizations and revelations that i would never normally realize or achieve normally, but in my altered state i think differently and get a 2nd opinion in a way. Just remember to tell some1 else what you are thinking so they can elaborate or at least help you remember :-)

the meaning of life is to be aware of and think about the world/universe. And to appreciate all the beauty of existence. And to connect with other people to share the experience of living.

personally, and this is only my own opinion but its what i truly believe though im always open to new ideas on this type of subject: the meaning of life in its most basic terms is to love others, to learn to accept ourselves along with our socially awkward faults, aquire knowledge, persue happiness and generally try to improve ones self. all the effort that we put in to our spiritual growth regarding these pointers will stay with us after death where we continue to grow from 'where we left off'. and maybe theres a possibility that under-developed 'souls' will get reincarnated maybe once or twice for more development time, but my opinions on these dynamics are way out of the scope of yahoo answers lol, i dont want to take up the whole page ;) anyway theres my opinion on your question. take care.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.
I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.
You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.
The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

There is NOT a "meaning" to life. Each organism lives because it CAN. What meaning your life has, is because of what you do with it.

Those who claim to know what life means play God.
It is written,, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9
and
God said, "Said in my haste, All men are liars." Psalm 16:11
What is the meaning of life?

The whole purpose of our existance is only to affect the future. Think about it: what, can we as humans, do that truly are beneficial to OUR lives when we're six feet under? The only thing that ever happens is that we influence the future. Even through inaction, the futuire is changed by us. And the people of the futures existance is only to affect the future people of the future's existance, and so forth.
