You have an student visa I guess, ask for a work visa at inmigration services, tell them that you are a student and they'll tell you if you can be given one. You can also ask at you collage for orientaion since they have experience helping foreing students, besides they sometimes give part-time job to some students. To work without a visa can get you a heavy fine for you and your employer plus a permanet and quik deportation.

If you are truly legally allowed to work in the US, then you should have no problem in applying for a social security number. Then you wouldn't have to worry about not having one.

The Social Security Administration's website at www.ssa.gov lists the procedures that you would follow to obtain one.

Legally, all jobs in the US require a social security number. Working here illegally could get you deported.

What do you have? Most employers will not hire you because you are an undocumented resident and they could be fined. Go to the career center at your school and ask them for advice. They also have jobs listed.
