are they similar in ways or different? would a director make a good critic? Just wanna know your opinion!

a critic would have to change his or her whole way of thinking to get actors to respond progressively. You can't just be a critic. You have to think of the good and the bad AND THEN find a way to interpret to the actor how that can be fixed. However, yes a critic would make a good director as long as they didn't walk in cocky and think that being a critic was all they had to do to make a show good.

Not necessarily. A critic writes about what moves them. A critic writes about what they see, and points out flaws. Its rare that a critic has the theatrical background, education, and experience required to be a director.

A director, and in fact an actor, would make good critics because they know what makes good theater. What's that quote? "It doesn't take a good actor to spot a bad one."
