Well, there is a smoking ban at the work place in my state, but that doesn't mean one can't smoke outside, as long as it is within a certain amount of feet from the building.

As a smoker, I used to be very move to wake up this morning and hear that smoking in my automobile - which I do most likely - is now banned. No realize, no warning. My car is not a corporation auto, I rarely have passengers (and if I do, i don't smoke) and i do not cast off my cigarettes out of my window. I've been smoking longer than i have been using, and i will effectively find and light-weight a cigarette with out taking my eyes off the road - I find it extra distracting trying to alternate the radio station. And in 15 years of smoking at the same time driving, i have on no account as soon as dropped a cigarette in my lap. After a bit of of research, nonetheless, I found out that smoking is not banned, as such - it's without difficulty towards recommendation. If you're using dangerously, committing a riding offence or concerned in an accident whilst smoking, then you will face a more serious penalty. Nevertheless, smoking on your car is viewed inadvisable instead than unlawful and a contributary aspect when you do something flawed. So, I shall nonetheless be fortunately lighting fixtures up even as driving - it is about the one location i can smoke without pissing any person off at the moment.

Tobacco is a legal product to sell, but you can't smoke in the shop where it is sold, you can't smoke in your own home [if a neighbor can smell it], if you have children it is child abuse and if you go fishing on the sea and smoke you can lose your job. It is simply creeping prohibition and taking away your rights to live as you want because the anti-smoking nannies know how you should live better than you do. Next they will tell you what you may eat or drink and enforce it by similar types of laws. Stop them at no smoking inside buildings open to the public and let employers decide whether to allow smoking in the workplace only. What you do at home on your own time is your own business. Next they will fire people who have a pint at the pub on Friday night, or those who eat greasy fish and chips, using the same kind of reasoning, those things are unhealthy. Then it will extend to risky sports like skiing, football and swimming, because you could get hurt. Big Brother is watching, waiting to take control. [see "1984" by George Orwell]

Depends on the employer. Some will let you smoke out the front but most customer concious companiest with stick you out the back some where out of public few. Probably a good thing as it looks really awful having a bunch of people standing out the front of the office huddled up against the wind drawing in smoke.

it depends on the Company.
If it is in a public place that non smokers have to pass through then yes smoking will be prohibited. If it does not affect the non smokers or members of the genral public then dependant on the company concerned the ban might not affect it.
Check with your Health and Safety Officer, Human Resources Section and Line Manager for further details.

Depends on the company's policy, I was talking to a nurse who isn't allowed to smoke within 2 miles of the hospital! When I am in court there are designated smoking areas on the grounds, they used to have smoking rooms inside the building but they have gone now :(

your employer can provide you with a smoking area (like the one you mentioned) and it can have a roof but it must not be inclosed (walls). they are also responsible for any mess you make so i'd clean up after yourselfs because if your employer gets a £2000 fine because you dropped a *** end he'll/she'll get rid of your smoking area

Lol no, at least it shouldn't, thats private property. Anyway, don't feel bad. At my job, if I am caught smoking on my day off at the mall, I can get fired. All employees for my company can't use ANY tobacco product.
