I just got this car back from the shop and it would not start. Got to looking
at the timing belt and the back cam was off a 1/4 turn. not a very good shop.
Fixed that and know it starts, but as soon as it starts it shuts off. Runs good
for about 2 seconds. Please help. Thanks"

It sound like your key is not programmed to your car anymore. I am assuming since its a lexus your key has a chip in it. If your shop messed that up they could have accidently cleared your keys from its memory. My Jeep will do the same thing , if you had a key for it that would work in the ignition but not programmed the car would start for 2 seconds then shut off. Just a thought.

i own a repair shop ,and if i were you i wouldn't run it any more, you payed to get it repaired right ,take it back to them and make them fix it right, you shouldn't have to pay twice to get it fixed, but if you mess with it they can say you caused this or what ever happens to it will be your fault, and they wont have to repair it again,be smart on this one ,make them do the job right, good luck i hope this helps.

'hook up" the OBD scanner.retrieve the code, replace the part.

my guess:the knock sensor.

do not take the car back to the same mechanic.
