not just the winners(like Taylor Hicks) but the people who get the votes during the competition. A lot of the people who are on aren't very good singers, but because America decides, they stay on the show.

Because...America is like that. We've sunken so low into the bar of standards that if you have a pretty face and some talent they are perfect and deserve this title. But, in the long run, the good signers get Signed anyway.

I think that people are voting to be contrary. The kids see Randy and Paula and Simon as authority figures and want to be anti-establishment. So they vote just the opposite of what they really know is the most talented person, or who they think is cool, regardless of the persons talent. If they let America vote, they'll never get a true consensus.

That's what happened on Dancing with the Stars too. This one couple had a lot more talent, but because this other girl was dressed in next to nothing everytime, she and her partner were voted for and won. That's all it seems to be about these days. It stinks. No more winning for those who actually have any talent.
