The orange badge itself and having one does not or should not by that mere fact alone mean anything at all. It gives the impression of importance or status by being a good samaritan and acting as an informed source of information. But is that all there is to it. Is it possible a person with an orange badge got it by creating multiple identities and giving points to him or herself by selecting an anwer as best and claiming the ten points? And does the content and quality of the answers given by a top contributor merit that prestige? Of course the first objection would be that it is not fair to say that about ALL top contributors so.... does that mean it doesn't happen?
