It was widely acclaim a modern-day great novel, which gave the reader detailed insight into a female point of view during the Civil War from a Southerns point of view. Since the Bible-belt South is religious in nature, the offense was profanity used by Clark Gable as Rhett Butler's statement, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!" Such curse language was unacceptable at the time. Enjoy.
