If so, should their child be deported with them? Because their child is a legal citizen of the United States we're technically not supposed to banish them for no reason, but do we separate them from their parents, or do we punish them for the crimes of their parents?

The child should go with. It will have dual citizenship, and should be able to come back when it reaches legal age.

There are a few exceptions to the general rule that children of illegal immigrants are deported with their parents. For example, if the parents can show that the child has extraordinary medical or educational needs that would not be met in the country of origin, they may be able to avoid deportation. The operative word, however, is may. If the parent has been convicted of a crime, especially one of moral turpitude, the exceptions probably won't help.

If you know someone who is in this situation, they should go to an immigration attorney to see if there are any exceptions that would apply to their situation.

Yes, along with their children too, unless they can legally place the child up for adoption. IF they do not want to do that, they should take the child with them.
