there are a number of stuff that would reason this concern, regrettably for you, human beings like Vance there is making an attempt to sell you an engine, the respond he gave you is ( on an analogous time as achieveable at times ) Doubtfully your concern. it is not any longer the fan belt in view which you have an electric fan. that's complicated to declare precisely what your concern is on the information superhighway yet heres some issues you could verify your self. First make beneficial that's complete of coolant, no longer purely in the reservoir the two, verify the radiator itself. at times the coolant equipment won't draw coolant from the reservoir and it will look complete. If the coolant point is superb, verify your fan to make beneficial that's working. it is going to come on while the A/C is switched on, if the A/C would not artwork then enable the engine run until it reaches working temp. The followers could kick on at around 220 levels. If the fan works, there is another concern you're able to do besides taking it to a fix save. purchase a radiator cap. i've got seen this restoration many overheating problems, If the radiator cap is undesirable it is going to reason a vacuum in the coolant equipment and reason the radiator hoses the be sucked flat and lose coolant bypass. it is purely a pair of money and something low priced which could restoration your vehicle.

Yeah, it does. All GM cars have had computers in them since around 1984 or 1985. Cavaliers for sure had them in the 1987 model year. If you want to see it, open the glove box and peek up as it is bolted above the glove box. If these mechanics don't know it has a computer, find yourself another mechanic. Good luck.

Yes it does, these other folks are confused. That car has a throttle body, which means it is electricaly controlled by a computer of some sort. At least a power module and ECM. Yes it does in fact have one.
Best of Luck!

Yes, it has a computer and it has multi-port fuel injection whether it's a 2.2 or 3.1. Please ignore most of the above answers. This IS the correct answer.
