It cracks me up that Wendy's is using an instrumental version of Blister in the Sun in their new ad campaign - guess the lyrics would be a little too offensive for the burger buying public :) I've also heard the Jam - Start (Cadillac ad) and The The - This is the Day (M & M's) in recent weeks.

Just wondering which punk or alternative band will be next... your thoughts?

The Smiths will probably let some credit card company use "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want". Then, Black Flag's "TV Party" will be in the background of an ad hawking Sanyo high definition sets. The Psychedelic Furs' "Here Come Cowboys" will then appear on a GMC Truck ad.

Probably Green Day. Oh wait, GD is a boy band pretending to be a punk band. Who's next? Maybe those gieco caveman can be dancing to MY SHARONA by The Knack?

oooooooooooooooooo i love you!!! i have been wracking my brain aover the m&m song!! i loved it when i was younger but couldnt remember what the name was lol omg!! thanks! and yea my kids recognized the blister in the sun song.i listen to my old stuff all the time. and they looked at me kind of funny. i personally dont think violent femmes or any other of these old punk/alternative groups are sell outs! hey they made the 80s worth living and if they want$$ they deserve it!
