I read a book similar to the first. I think it was Krondor's Hammer. It involved an elf and a dwarf that hated each other (they were mortal enemies) but they fell in love (even though it was forbidden. Great Story.
I wouldn't care to much for the second option. Cheers!â¥

Magical one has more interesting plot. Non magical one sounds too common it might be boring.
