ffs,stop shoplifting...pay for it,your costing everyone else a fortune by subsidising you !!!

U used to be hung or the hand u stole with chopped off.Now the Penalty 4 shoplifting in Britain 4 the 1st time is = anything from ignore the person ---- 2 a prison sentence. Really It depends if anyone sees u ---- 2 who sees u ---- 2 who deals with u. It varies. U can b given Community work,
warnings, reprimand's. U get the picture.
British Justice HUMBUG there is none u can depend on. Mind u part of It is Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair's fault. Tony came in to office saying he would have Zero Tolerance. I know that Tony has 100's of new Law's which can put u into Prison. Tony just does not have the trustworthy people in power 2 b able 2 carry these laws through. 2 many people BAD NOW. Answer who knows. It changes every time the powers that b find a loophole in the laws.

Probably just a caution if there are no aggravating circumstances. A caution is not a conviction and does not give you a criminal record, but is held on file by the police and will show up if they arrest you again.

Of course if you feel that you are not guilty, you can decline the caution, in which case it will be up to the CPS to decide whether to prosecute. If they do, you can argue your case in court.

It depends on the value of what you stole and if the police are called. If the police are called, you will be arrested, fingerprinted, photographed and have your DNA taken. If what was stolen is under a certain amount you will receive an £80 fixed penalty. If it was a high amount and/or your a repeat offender, they will charge you and you may have to appear in court.

Depends on what you steal,if its a bar of chocolate it could be caution if its a Rolex watch fine,probation or community service there are no fixed punishments.

it would depend on what you stole, the value etc. You could be fined or receive a community penalty eg unpaid work

used to be a caution but now i think you get an £80 fine as the law is clamping down on things that used to be so easy to get away with.
