no, the current system is designed so no one is offended not so that the world can be saved. to save this planet we are going to have to offend a few people. because there are always the die hards that refuse to change. so as long as we are letting the people to lazy and self involved to help go on destroying what we are working for then the chances are that it is never going to get any better.

Sure. So far, humans have solved every major problem that has presented itself. Of course, the "system" of the day must evolve to meet these new needs. Our current system will do the same.

I'm reminded of what I've read about 100 years ago, when automobiles were new. They were fantastic and they would rid the cities of pollution - horse urine and excrement that filled the streets, and the mounds of horse carcasses that piled up, especially in big cities.

Of course, automobiles brought air pollution and the fossil fuel economy and all of the geopolitical stress that we are dealing with now.

In time we will find ourselves a new "low carbon" economy, and it will be good. Then in 50 years we will be tackling the problems that are left - there will always be problems left.

The planet and the environment will be saved, anyway.
