i dont see the fact that you being tall could really make any diffrence when it comes to skating really...I have a good friend that is 6'5 and man is that guy good as hell and he rips at everything he skates from street to park the guy is a atv and being tall dont really seem to bother him and it has its good sides too you will never sack it on a rail since your feet will hit the ground before somthing else hits the rail LOL...

I would think it might be more difficult to balance but Ive heard that people with longer legs can pop their tricks higher. I dont exactly remeber the reasoning behind this though. Your height doesnt matter that much especially in skating so go for it. Good Luck!

Yes, a shorter person has a lower center of gravity so they have better balance.

And yeah, I suppose since you're farther from the ground so it'd be harder to keep your balance.
