run your finger nail perpendicular to the scratch...if it catches your nail....then a touchup paint kit is in order....clean the scratch with a qtip and alcohol....rub gently to remove wax...

wipe clean once dried.

Touch up lightly with base color paint...wait to dry for a day...
I would use 1500 ultrafine to knock the overflow down.....and use some water to help you...

towel dry and let air dry for another hour....then start building some clearcoat up.....it will take about two to three applications to build this scratch up.

Once it has been drying for a day....use 1500 again to smooth the touchup around the scratched surface....using light and cross hatching movements....

Once it is close to being flush with the rest of the clearcoat, use fine polishing compounds....then glaze and buff to a high gloss.

Do this over a period of days so the layers f touch up dry thoroughly.

if you put your finger on the scratch and you dont feel it, then it's just a surface scratch. it can be buffed out. There are products like Nu finish for this. If u can feel the texture of the scratch on your finger ( like a deep key scratch) then its beneath the surface and you will need to get a kit to fill it in and get the color match. If you are doing this it is easy to mess it up and the color spot will be noticeable. If its in a spot you can see under the door, low bumper then you may not care. I have a Mercedes and it got scratched. You should let a pro do it if the car is worth it. A panel of a car should run $300-500 each. Cars usually have 8 panels ( 6 if a 2 door) plus trunk, hood and roof

It depends on how deep they are. If they have gone through all layers of paint get a hold of a good brand of paste style toothpaste and using a wash cloth and some water apply to scratches using a circular motion. Make sure that use moderate pressure and rinse occasionally to see how far you've gone. It will take some time and effort but it does work. When you have all the scratches buffed out wash the car with a gentle detergent and wax the whole vehicle. Good luck.

depends how deep the scratches are some of the light ones will buff out with some elbow grease, but for the hard ones duplicolor makes a touch up kit with everything you need for about 20 bucks, you just have to get the paint code for your car. but if say someone keyed your car and its realy big spot then i would suggest taking it to a body shop and having the insurance take care of it.
