You don't want to forget them. You want to move on. It will take time. Allow yourself to grieve.
DO NOT get another animal as other posters have suggested. If your stepmom is so immoral with ferrets, she will proabbly be that way with other animals.
If you feel your stepmom killed your ferrets, call the ASPCA or animal control. Throwing animals off of balconies is not a way to deal with them.

It's always sad to lose something we love. You will grieve for awhile than the memories of Kisses and Angel will seep into that special place in your heart forever. In time you will most want to share your love with another pet as I'm sure your ferret friends would want this.
Try don't to be too hard on your step-mom. My grandkids have pet rats which make me cringe but I'd hate to see them lose there beloved pets. Take care

Your story sounds terrible, but your step mom might be innocent. I once had a cat that fell or jumped off and 8th story balcony. I was so mad, because our roommate hated him. I just knew that he threw him off the balcony.
I went looking for him and found him alive, but scared to death. He landed in bushes is the only reason that he was alive. Found out that our room mate had never even been home that day. If I hadn't found him alive I would've always really thought my roommate killed him.
Anyway, you don't want to forget your dead pets. you just want to get on with your life. It's not easy. I found every picture that I could when my 16 year old cat died. I made a photo album and looked at it quite often. I also cried daily for quite some time.
He's been dead now almost 12 years, and I've never forgotten him. just moved on. I still remember his birthday and they day he died. But, I have other cats to love now. i will never forget my first baby though.
In time you will feel better. But, you must never forget them.

You never will, only time will ease your grief. Make a memorial book for each of them (like a scrapbook). This will give you 1) something to busy your mind 2) it's a keep sake to keep them in your heart forever with. On the cover put a favorite toy of each using hot glue or craft glue, smaller toys can be put on pages inside. If they had a favorite blanket, cut a piece of it and glue it in there too. Also write little stories about each and little captions to go with the photos. If you have no photos, not to worry, make sketches of them to go with their stories. Have a party to celebrate their time with you and invite your friends and have each of them write their own story they remember about each ferret. After the party take a helium filled balloon for each and set it free to the heavens. My daughters started a pet scrapbook a few years ago to remember all the pets we've had in our lives.

What did you do with thier bodies? If you still have them and if you can afford to, take them to the vet's office and ask him to have them cremated. Tell the vet you want thier ashes back and he will get thier remains put in urns, then he will call when he has them back. That way you can remember them and get over losing them in your own time.
I lost my last dog nearly 11 years ago and I still think about him, we did have him cremated since we had him for nearly 16 years. He was 2 months away from celebrating his 16th birthday when we needed to put him to sleep because he was in pain and he was suffering. He had a really bad heart which was causing a fluid to build up in his lungs. But we still get to remember him and talk to him, we remember all the great times we had with him. Plus we can tell him how much we care whenever we need to since we have his remains in an urn sitting on my mom's desk.

your loss is recent and you can blame alot of people in time the pain will be less as time goes by and though it may hurt suggest to your parents about getting another pet at some point that tends to help a little and you cant forget but remember the good times you had its kind of like losing a member of the family

Definately get another. I had ferrets too and they are so awsome, I still miss them all the time. See about getting another or if not, small dogs are a good alterative.

you don't "have" to forget your lovable pets. my sister has 1 female ferret if anything was to happen to her my sister would be absolutly beside herself practically unconsoliable. your next pet i would definitely keep away from evil stepmother.
i'm really sorry for your loss.

Don't be so hard on yourself. That stuff takes time. We get attached. That's human nature. You will be ready for another pet in time & it will help.
