Hard to say. The UN is completely useless. If they ignore this outrage, it will be predictable. If they condemn it, then so what? The UN does nothing to enforce anything it is supposedly opposed to.

As always, the UN will only slap Iran on its wrist. Iran will feel no real economic impact because the UN cannot effectively administer its sanctions because it is a bureaucratic nightmare.

The kidnapping of soldiers is a declaration of war. The British government needs to wake up to the fact that their national sovereignty has just been violated. UN sanctions won't punish Iran, British air strikes and naval attacks will. And if Britain is in any way attacked further by Iran, you can guarantee the full power of the American army will be knocking at the door of Iran. Hell, our fleets are floating right off their coast. And I would bet good money that Germany and France would show support for their European neighbor as well.

The UN? What's that again? Just as the US was within it's right to take out Saddam Hussein and the threat he posed, Britain would be perfectly wthin their right to unload on Iran for kidnapping it's servicemen in Iraqi waters. But I'm sure there will be a group of liberals out there that will insist it was all somehow Britains fault for being there in the first place!

Hopefully screw them royally. Wake up world, remember how Germany was allowed to do whatever it wanted in the days leading up to WWI and WWII? This time WWIII will involve Iran and nukes, is that what you want liberals? Still think this whole war on terror is a waste of time and over oil??? Wake up.

i doubt it will make much difference. the problem is that russia and china are reluctant to be harsher with iran due to financial and economic reasons. the UK is already on board with heavier sanctions. but, these kidnappings will do little to sway russia and china.

It will have NO affect, Britain will NOT bargain with terrorist actions.
Britain WILL have nuclear subs in that area, and if the servicemen are harmed or killed, Iran WILL lose its naval fleet!
