they dont come to practice.

I want to be helpful because i am only 21, coaching 15-17 year old girls. So i dont have a problem with them telling me if something is wrong. But it is just ridiculous how much they complain and dont listen. How do you handle these girls? make them run? i wish there was something else!

I'm a freshman and on the JV softball team at my school. My coach makes us run if we don't listen or talk about something other then softball. Try to make softball more exciting for them-like if you're practicing bunting make a game out of it. My coach makes us run if we don't bunt it down the first or third base lines. However, I also believe that you have a much bigger problem then our team. Nobody on our team crys or doesn't come to practice. Perhaps the girls aren't respecting you as much because you are so close to their age. Set things straight, you are the boss! Good luck this season!

Well, Tell them they either listen up, or they are going to be here all night, or they have no reason to be on your team, because you don't come and bust your *** for them to come and whine and complain about petty crap...Also explain to them that This team if for the mature girls who can handle what is dealt, not the whiny wimpy immature girls who gotta bytch about wverthing that comes their way...and ask if they are going to complain and moan if they get a scrape during the game... if so tell them they do not need to be on the team. Explain that you are there to help them with problems, but they also need to work hard for the team, and ask them why they tried out for the team if they are not going to work.....be blunt and take control!!

Girls are so dramatic. I grew up with 3 bros. Now I have 2 step daughters, one is 13 and the other is pre-teen. I'm amazed at the difference between boys and girls. I think you should be a little tough on them. Not mean, just assertive and stern. They're still kids and they need those boundaries. Right now they don't know where the boundaries are.

I've never been a HS coach, but I remember how I myself was. If I were you, I would just try to make light of their drama but joking around with them and laughing when they try to start the drama...
