Too many kids got lead poisoning - I think they outlawed them in the late 70s.

all pencils have graphite. The element lead is not used at all.

Graphite, of course. You can't get lead pencils anymore - they are too dangerous.

Actually, carbon.

Carbon is a single structure, graphite is carbon that is 2 dimensional structure, and diamond is carbon that is 3 dimensional structure.
