Honey, I had two surgeries on my left ankle after being hit by a car, and they had me on such strong pain medicine, that I had no appetite to eat! However, in your case, you can do crunches in bed at night, and just crawling into the bathtub, instead of walking in the shower is a "work-out" alone!!Haha!! I shouldn't joke, cuz I've been there, and I do sympathize with you, this I do promise you!! Okay, lets see, with "crunches" you have to put your hands criss/cross over your chest, and go half way up then down, and repeat until it burns!!! Then with your good leg supporting your weight, do but lifts, and push up as high as you can go, and hold it until it burn's, and or until your one good leg cant take much more pressure!! You could sit on the end of the couch or your bed and do leg-lifts, and get your leg stronger without hurting your ankle, because it will be suspended in air.. and just pull your knees to your waist, one at a time, so you dont fall and land on your bad ankle.. And make sure your good and balanced on the edge, to be good and secure, in order not to fall or get off balanced.. You could do your arm excercises, easily, by also sitting on the end of furniture or your bed, by raising your elbow's evenly up to your shoulder level, and fists meeting eachother, and pull back as far as you can and then front words, and repeat until your arms hurt.. These are isometric excercises!! Very good for you, to want to keep your cardiovascular, going and energized during your healing time!! I sure hope you'll have a "Speedy Recovery" hun!! And you'll also have that figure you so desire, for!!! Smile, and get well soon for us here on Yahoo!!!

I was once very energetic and performed plenty of exercises. I have DJD in my proper ankle, (wasting cartalidge) due to the fact that my challenge worsened through the years, I have received weight as a result of inabilaty to endeavor, and now I am lazy. That bieng mentioned, Swimming is the BEST endeavor you'll do EVER. I makes use of EVERY muscle within the frame. (Thats why swimmers are so trim) If you've got entry to a pool. Stationary motorcycle could also be an choice so long as you'll tolerate the anguish/anguish. The great Physical Therapy for a moderate-mild sprain is gentle-mild endeavor, no longer complete relaxation and imobilization. Old tuition thought was once to relaxation, however new tuition says "Move it or lose it"

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

When I broke my ankle 2 yrs ago my podiatrist had me
go to a version of water aerobics physical therapy.
Try to be patient (easier said than done) - sometimes
it seemed like I would never walk without a limp and
pain again - then about 17 weeks post-injury I suddenly
noticed I was nearly pain-free and walked without the
limp - another week or two and all was fine. They tell
you 2 months, but for me it was a little more than
twice that time. Keep wearing some sort of support
device too for awhile.
