I just bought a microphone headset and there are 6 empty slots to insert plugins in the back of the computer.I think im plugging it in right,the instructions are crap,is there any way to test to see if the microphone is working?
Also,when i play music i have a plugin from my computer to my stereo and the music comes out there.I would like music that i play to come out of my stereo but that come out in my headset

Microsoft has a program that comes with the computer called sound recorder. If you cant find it search for it. There is an option labeled record. click it and try talking into the mic. If it doesnt work try another slot. If it helps the port on my computer is green.

under control panel there is the sound control and under there there is a test hardware button which will go through a set up. if u want sound to come out of your headset just change the black speaker cable with the cable from your headset with a little picture of a speaker and make sure to have the other one plugged in (violet) in the violet port.

If your headset does not have two cords(one lime green the other violet)then you may need a special program or card to listen and talk through your head set.To listen to music through your headset and stereo you only need a male to female splitter...good luck
