I asked a group of my friends (all women), "would you rather be beautiful to yourself and see a gorgeous person whenever you look in the mirror but when everyone sees you they see this ugly person or be the most gorgeous specimen walking the planet to everyone but whenever you look in the mirror, you see a hideous person?" All of them (12 in total) chose the first.
I think even though we are heavily influenced by what people think, our own opinions weigh more. So even if a thousand people tell your friend that she's gorgeous, if she doesn't see that, then she won't believe it. It's hard not to be able to help a friend when you want to but she needs to be able to look in the mirror and not think such negative things about herself. Having a good friend like you probably helps boost her self-esteem though.
Also, if you are going to take her shopping, I would take her to a store where you know the sizes match what she usually wears. For instance, one store's size 6 is another store's size 8 and if she's feeling fat, then the last thing you want to do is take her into a store and she tries on a pair of jeans in the size she usually wears and they are too small. Just a side note... I've done it before and it's kind of depressing.

***tell her that she is normal and she should be grateful...just look at all the people with syndromes ,and weird sicknesses, and deformed faces...
she should be grateful.and all she needs is to be confident in herself...she must accept how she looks and just live life happy...
WHO CARES WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT HER it shouldn't affect her
