The daughter is 12. Mom has not dated much since her divorce. The daughter had no problem with me in the picture at first, but since her Mom and I are spending more time with each other. She (the Daughter) told her mom that she hates me.

All of the response are great. I have done all that. I bought all three of us two year passes to Busch Gardens. THe daughter is always invited. But does not want to go.

Her and Her mother have alot of alone time. Mother and I see each other twice maybe three times a week. No more then three time a week. Unless the daughter is with her Dad.

stand back.. dont press the issue.. let her come to you instead..if your there with her and her mom .. be nice but not to wear it seems like your begging for her approaval.. and always let her mom tell her what to do

thats hard. She's 12, so talk with her. She probably feels like you are tryign to take her real father out of the picture. Take her out to a park for a walk, and talk with her. Explain that you really like her Mom, and that you dont want to be your next Dad, remind her that there is only one for her. Ask her if you could be her friend instead, you know? Find out some of the things that she is interested in, and treat her. If she likes sports, take her to a game, if she's into horses, take her horseback riding for an afternoon, she into swimming? Ask your girlfriend what she likes to do, if she doesn't know, ask the daughter if she would like to go horseback riding with you.
I think once she spends a little more time with you, it'll grow. She might just need time.
My cousin, she's 12, he mom is seeing this guy, and he tries too hard. He makes these jokes, but they seem to be more mean than funny, you know? Also he disaplines her when she's bad. DONT be the father! Be more like a friend, and just point out what she's doing wrong if she acts up, you know? Never talk about her real Dad in a bad way, then she will hate you, maybe try to get along with him too if you can. It would make it alot easier on her. Try not to be too clingy to her Mom when she is around either. I know that those are some of the things that bothered my little cousin. And if she is anything like her, you should be able to talk about it to her. She's smarter than you think.

Spend time getting to know the daughter. Try doing activities which include the child. Its hard for the child to let you into her world since its only been her and the mom. Be patient. She'll come around.

well see im 12 maybe when u guys spend time thougher maybe you can try to include her we 12 year old girls dont like being left out but thats my opinon maybe you can take her (daughter) somewhere special and get to know more about her and ask what the reason for hating you is. good luck

make sure that you include her. have some of your dates at the park, pizza place, arcade, zoo or somewhere she would enjoy too. a picnic at the park will impress mom & daughter. and no matter what, never insult or bad mouth the dad, even if she does.

are you including her daughter in the things that you do? maybe you should take them on a trip to disneyland or the park or the batting cages or somewhere the daughter would like to go.

Pay attention when she says something, but don't try to force conversation. If you can pick up on something she likes, get her something little that relates to her hobbies or interests...maybe a new CD, DVD, or a certain book.
