When we got an adult cat from someone (who should not have had any pets), and he did that. We found out that he was used to dirty litter pans, so he had re-trained himself to use anything except the cat box.
Moral to story: Make sure that you are cleaning the cats litter box e v e r y day. That should stop the problem

If you keep that stuff on the floor for a week. YOU'LL be taught the lesson. Not the cat.

No, because cats in the wild have nobody to pick up their poo.
She/he won't care at all if you leave it there.
You should just give it proper household training, whenever she goes on the floor point and say know and bring her/him to her litterbox and repeat if it happens again

NO! You need to get your cat and stick it's nose in it and put the cat in the litter box. THEN CLEAN UP THE POO!

Sure, if you like the smell of decaying fecal matter. Your cat will think he/she has a new litter box, called "your floor"

No. She will think it's okay to go there again. Show it to her, say NO loudly, and then pick up the cat and put it in the litterbox.

Nooooooo. rub her nose in it and say, "NO!" or "BAD"! Then clean it up. The only one who will be "taught a lesson" if you leave it there for an extended period is you.
