I'm just trying to make sense of the message we all should be learning from their outstanding leadership. If they have the peanut garage and money for the spinach farmer, are they kind-of, sort-of ok with, oh I don't know, winning a war or ... something?

I would say that they don't care, think about it who are the ones that want to take away funding for the troops. The Democrats. They just want to leave because it is the opposite of the republicans. All they care about is being reelected.

The Dem's don't care. They had to load a bogus bill with 24 Billion dollars in pork to try to buy votes. The heavy armor piercing plates the Troops have now are at 1 million, up from 0 during the end of the Clinton administration. Page 72 of the bill calls for a 15 day waiting period to send in Strike Forces, Delta Forces, Air Strikes etc and that it must go to the house first. The Dem's are using our Troops as pawns for political gain and that is outrageous.

Yeah they definitely filled that bill for the war with a lot of pork didn't they. I'm glad that one answerer mentioned dragon skin,it reminded me to look it up,totally awesome every troop ought to have this stuff it makes what they're wearing now look like a t shirt if you ask me. So why didn't they put funding in for this body armor if they care so much about the troops?

so what happens when we are there 10 years, are going to be saying the same thing? when is it time to get out of a losing proposition? And yes it is better to spend money on local pork projects because 1) people aren't going to die doing it and 2) the money in the US gets to move around among us. I'm all for giving the Admin. the chance to solve this problem...but it appears that they are incapable or it is something that can't be solved...the 200 billion dollars that is spent in Iraq every year does not stay in America or just goes to defense contractors...it doesn't help daily life for people who need it...think Katrina or natural farm disaster like drought

Everyone is issued body armor. Everyone in Iraq that is.

I did see something on Future Weapons about some new body armor called Dragon Skin or something like that, but I am not sure.

You should brag about this crooked administration that has done so much for our own country!!! You want to talk about waste of monies, how about the bridge to nowhere that Alaska senator ted Stevens wanted to build. If I'm not mistaken he's a repugnut!!! Don't act so high and mighty about pork-barrel projects when it seems that both parties have their hands in the cash register!!
I can't believe that people that ***** and carry on about money is willing to allow no-bid contracts to be given to contractors and not require that progress be shown or records be kept. Both parties are "politics as usual" inside the beltway!!!

What?! If your referring to the passing of a certain bill in the House today, I think you need to go reread it. It clearly provides 124billion MORE money to pay for this GD war! Which, BTW, Bush is prepared to veto even if it means the troops have no money next month. We can't just let our boys continue to be caught/maimed/killed in the cross-fire of this nutty civil war. There needs to be some plan in place to get them out. "Stay the course" failed.

Considering how Bush and the Republicans never gave the military what they needed when they got into this war in the first place...?

No. you're right, Democrats must be evil because they don't agree with an incompetent leader. Therefore, they must want all of the troops to die, especially Gov. Webb, since his boy is in the Marines infantry and all.

Anyone who doesn't agree with the superb way the Bushboys mismanaged this mess must obviously be a troop-hater, baby killer and unpatriotic. Get real dude.
