It was definitely Prelude, but I'm sure there was only one girl in the band the other three singing backup were blokes. they were from the north east of England and also sang "Platinum Blonde" another minor hit hope this helps.
ps the song is often on compilation cd's ie acoustic moods

Natalie Merchant and the 10,000 Maniacs did an awesome version. Check it out. Not as good as Neil's but, it's a cover! A VERY good one.
