There's no point. A full search engine is extremely expensive to set up, it takes thousands of servers to crawl and index the entire web. So there aren't very many of them.

- Google
- Yahoo
- Amazon/A9

Where do "300 search engines" come from? That's easy. Little sites can't afford to run their own search engine, so the big 5 often allows them to use theirs. For instance, Altavista gets its results from Yahoo! search. AOL actually uses Google search. Etc.
It wouldn't surprise me if there were 300 sites which used results from the big 5 search engines. Get in the big 5, you're in all 300. That was easy!

There are such sites. Google search for free site submitter will bring your results. My advice is not to do this though. There are better ways to get indexed such as posting comments on forums, blogs writing articles etc. Submitting your site is not the best way using software. Use other seo techniques. Given the right site say a PR7 site where you have posted a comment you will be indexed within hours not weeks by software submission services.

Are you going to pay a fee? You can submit it to yahoo and google, but it doesn't mean that your site will be listed. Do you have the correct meta data keywords? If you don't conform you site to the standards, then it won't matter who you list your site with. I would do a search for free website submissions. These sites will allow you to submit your site to over 20 websites at a time.
