Robert Horry!......here's why!....

He never was the main guy...he never shot the ball to get a rythum....he just came in and hit..game tying ..game winning..or series ending shots...without ever having the oppurtunity to to touch the ball much!....when you think about it ...it's amazing!

1)He spent his first four NBA seasons with the Rockets, helping them win the NBA Championship in 1994 and 1995 and setting individual NBA Finals records with five 3-pointers in a quarter and seven steals in one game.

2)He earned the Big Shot Rob" reputation with a game-winning jumper in the final seconds of Game 1 of the Rockets 1995 Western Conference Finals series vs. the San Antonio Spurs

3)Horry was a member of the Lakers when they won three consecutive NBA championships (2000, 2001, and 2002), and he earned a reputation for coming up with clutch playoff baskets when the Lakers needed them most!

4)Over the Lakers' three-year run, Horry made a game-clinching three-pointer in at least one game in four straight playoff ser

5)Over the Lakers' three-year run, Horry made a game-clinching three-pointer in at least one game in four straight playoff series (starting with the 2001 NBA Finals), but perhaps none more important than in game 4 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals against the Sacramento Kings. Trailing two games to one in the series and facing game 5 at Sacramento, the Lakers looked bad early and were down by as many as 24 points in the first half. The Lakers fought hard and got back in the game, but were still down 99-97 with 11 seconds to play. On the final possession, Horry's teammates Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal missed consecutive layups, apparently dooming the Lakers. Then Vlade Divac swatted the ball behind the three-point line to Horry who hit a clutch three-pointer as time expired for a 100-99 Lakers' victory

6) In game 5 of the 2005 NBA Finals against the Detroit Pistons, Horry came alive in the fourth quarter to boost San Antonio to a win and 3-2 series lead

7)Moments later, Horry got the ball with nine seconds remaining in overtime and promptly drained his fifth three-pointer of the night for a Spurs' one-point victory. Horry shot 13-27 from behind the arc for the series' first 6 games and sank 7 of 12 shots, including 5-6 from behind the arc, in game 5. He scored 21 of San Antonio's final 35 points in that classic contest

8)He is second on the all-time list of three-pointers made in the playoffs, behind only Reggie Miller, which is an amazing feat for someone of his height. He also holds the record for three pointers all-time in the NBA Finals, passing Michael Jordan's previous record of 42, and finished 2005 with 53 career Finals 3-pointers

9)Horry collected his sixth championship as a member of the Spurs in 2005. That year he joined John Salley as the only players to win NBA rings with three different teams. Horry has also played in more NBA playoff games than any player except Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, having passed Scottie Pippen for 2nd place during the 2006 NBA playoffs

10)He holds an individual NBA Playoffs record for most three-point field goals made in a game without a miss (7), against the Utah Jazz in Game 2 of the 1997 Western Conference Semifinals

Everywhere he goes teams win....except when Danny Ainge is around..lol

pre 80's: jerry west...i've seen some old clips of him making some incredible shots. and u cant be the logo for the nba if u werent a great and cluth player.

80's: bird and magic. both could make the big shot but bird had more range...both could create and get themselves their own shot; which is something that is overlooked.

90's: jordan. no other words necessary.

as much as a clutch shooter robert horry is he was always set up or was in the right place to make the shot. he couldnt create his own shot and would never have the ball in his hands to start the play...just to end it.

u cant go wrong with any of these players...

Michael Jordan is probably the most clutch player of all time. Another guy that is coming along is Gilbert Arenas for the Wizards. Hes had like 4 or 5 game winners for them this year.

Bill Russell. Keep one thing in mind if we go with Michael Jordan- it took Jordan a while to finally win a title. Yes, Russell had a lot of great players around him Jordan didn't have at the beginning of his career- but you don't win eight championships in a row without coming up big. Plus, Wilt Chamberlain was arguably more talented than he was and Russell won almost every big game against him.

I like Lebron, hes pleasant for the sport, so that you get a TOMMY POINT. (Star) But my favourite participant is Paul Pierce considering the fact that he pours his center and soul into the sport, and in no way offers up. On one other group its Delonte West, considering the fact that he's a excellent standup man. I had lunch with him, my aunt, and his agent approximately a advertising. (My aunt is a PR director for the Celtics) He took care of the industry detail in five mins, and spent the leisure of the hour and a part simply chilling, telling experiences, and truthfully paying attention to what I needed to say. I used to be stunned at how right down to earth the fellow used to be. Cleveland is fortunate to have him.

that I have seen and rooted for...that single handedly got the lakers over the hump with the kings...that would be robert horry...if not for him the kings clinch in Staples that one year, the second of the three peat...horry has always hit clutch shots from behind the arc...while wearing rockets red, lakers yellow and spurs black...and what few know is that he is the most personable NBA star you could ever meet, I must share...the security at Staples is so stiff that( the year of the last championship in LA) Robert comes down to the Bank of America room, where Doc holds a private invitation only reception after every home game, next to the room where the players hospitality is...and the red blazered security guy stops Robert at the door...he looks embarassed and smiles as one of my friends who works for the team waves him thru...same game Pete Sampras has his wife in tow and leaves pissed off, he couldnt get in...no invite...as I sat there with extra passes trying to find someone to invite in...too funny...(great lob fellas with MJ...pretty much cant go wrong picking that guy...)

MJ........ Air Jordan...........His Airness........Whoever makes the winning basket for the NBA championship must be pretty clutch (for his 6th ring). Finals MVP for each of his rings. I guess you haven't seen his buzzer against Cleveland either. Mike was clutch back in college as well. And don't forget the NCAA title-winning shot against Georgetown in 1982 when he was just a freshman at North Carolina. ESPN had a poll for most clutch player in all of history for any sport and Jordan came out in first with 40.5%. Jordan has been the most clutch player for as long the NBA has been around.

In the NBA today - Carmelo Anthony. He has already hit "11" game winning shots in just 4 years.

Of all-time. Michael Jordan has sent the most teams home in the playoffs in the final minutes of a game
