I need help figuring out how I should dress that is appropriate for a young 30ish woman working with the teens at our church. They are into normal teen stuff like Hollister and Abercrombie, but some are a little more industrial.

I want them to feel comfortable around me, not like I look like their mom, but also not trying too hard to dress like them cause that can get pretty ridiculous looking.

Mostly I wear jeans and t-shirts or capris, flip-flops, etc.

Although I'm sure that what you wear would be fine and far from mom-ish, I suggest checking out H&M or possibly Forever 21. H&M has clothes for all ages and all of their clothes are very stylish-- very mature, and far from minivan mommy. My relatives that are in your age range love that store, so I'm sure you could find something that will fit what you're looking for! Also, their clothes are priced amazingly compared to Hollister, A&F, and all of those other stores. Hope this helps you!

that's a tough one! I understand what you mean though. Maybe try dressing up your look a little by avoiding sneakers and flip-flops. Cute flats would be a good alternative.

In reality, this kids WILL think of you as older even if you dress young. Remember high school? There was always that one teacher or substitute who was probably only 22 but seemed so much older! I guess it's more about your attitude.

That sounds fine unless you would want to wear dress pants and dress shirt. It depends on what you are doing and the opinion of the church.

It sounds like your church is pretty casual. I'd just be yourself and dress as you normally do...it sounds like you dress appropriate for your age, and don't worry about looking too much like their moms because I'm sure you don't.

Wear what you would normally wear. Of course make sure it is not to sexy or too conservative. But if you dress normally you will feel more comfortable and so will they,
