Using a database is faster than manually searching for information?

YES.

I use DB's everyday. I can find specific orders (which by the way, also have a paper counterpart filed away) in about10 seconds as opposed to minutes or hours....depending on how old the order is. I say 10 seconds because it takes me about that long to write my SELECT statement and hit enter.......the information is retrieved in sometimes less than a second.........

With a filing cabinet, your search is limited to the specific way the files are sorted.......whether that be by order number or by customer name...........If by customer name...I must first find the customer then individually inspect all parts of the file to find the order and hopefully it was not misfiled with someone Else's orders........if that is the case, depending on how much is filed, it may take a few hours or days to locate the info.

Is that a statement or a question. Try searching for "age of the earth" on google versus the library. The answer is there.
