I found me a baby bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me? Ouch! He stung me!

Remember that?

What's your favorite kids song growing up?

Anyone remember "Magdalena Hagdalena"?

Davy Crockett:
(Sunshine clears her throat)
♫ Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee. Greenest state in the land of the free. Raised in the woods so he knew every tree. Kilt him a "bar" when he was only three. Davyyyyyyyyy. Davy Crockett. King of the wild frontier.♫

I am 58 and I still have my Davy Crockett outfit. As a matter of fact, just three days ago I framed a photo of me wearing it!!
I used to take my Davy Crockett canteen to school in the first grade, instead of a thermos......I was a cute little dickens!

I have so many favorite sing along songs that I grew up with.
A lot were heard on the PBS show Kidsongs or Barney.

This was the music I listened to before I got into Rock.

I would say Swanee River was my favorite. Florida's state song!
Others included:
B-I-N-G-O
Old MacDonald had a farm
Sally the camel
Koombya
Take me out to the ball game
Bear went over the mountain

I remeber being taught Five Little Speckled Frogs in nursery, my teacher had a little set of froggy finger puppets to go with it. I've since taught it to my kids..

Five little speckled frogs
Sat on a speckled log
Eating some most delicious bugs, yum yum.
One jumped into the pool
Where it was nice and cool
Then there were four green speckled frogs, glub glub.

And you just go on til there aren't any more speckled frogs. I love it!

mine was "The Buggie Song"

don't step on that bug
ya never know, another bug might love that buggie so-
walk around don't put your foot down, don't stomp him!

ya oughtn't swat that fly
ya might make another fly cry, that really liked that fly
so let him keep buzzin' and flyin' on by
don't swat him!

~Chorus~
O tender hearted me-
can't stand to see a livin' thing, lying on its back and kickin'
i sympathize, within your eyes
i ain't nothin' but a little bitty bug

So don't cut that centipede in half
you'll cut him in half and he'll still survive
he'll go home to his wife in pairs-
and they'll have problems

~repeat chorus~

*most people these days have never heard of this song, i wanted to copy/paste it but couldn't find the lyrics anywhere.... this was my favorite and my kid's favorite now, i think it is really cute!

One of them: "Bits of Paper
Bits of Paper
Lying on the ground
Lying on the ground
It makes the place untidy
It makes the place untidy
Pick them up
