hi im in my skools track team and whenever i start running i get shin splits and it get even more difficult to run. how can i stop getting shin splits this never happened before. it started like a week in a half ago and i started track like 2 in a half weeks ago !!!! please help they are killing me

Yea, I know exactly how that is. You could try strengthening the muscles around it. Theres this one warm up I've been taught and its the one where either you are sitting down (feet touching floor) or kneeling on one knee whichever you want. All you do is keep your heels down and lift your toes and do it in 3 sets of 30 secs or so. Hopefully it helps. Good luck with it.

You need to ice the shin splints for 20 minutes at least a minimum of three times a day. I had the same problem. Also, you may want to find a better pair of running shoes. I spent the extra money for the better shoes and that helped alleviate my problem.

When I was in the Army we ran in combat boots when we ran PT. A lot of soldiers had shin splints. The Army let us run in running shoes and that cleared the problem up. I'm not suggesting that you're running in combat boots, but you might switch to a different brand of running shoe.That should clear it up for you.

i run track, too and i play soccer and i have shin splints, scoliosis, tendonitis, and patella syndrome. what i do is tape my shins and deal with it.
