I live in a apt in Miami, and across the street there's a construction site (a condo)....three times a week, there's a truck that comes at 4 am to pick up debris from the constructio....and everyday at 6 am the contruction starts and there is so much noise coming from it...actually more beeping....I tried to call the police and the City Hall with no luck! Please help!!!

I am not sure if I can help you but some towns have ordinance's that say they can not start work until a certain time. I know in maine on sunday they can not start before 8am. Not sure on the other days. But I agree 4 am is to early. Another idea maybe if you can contact the pick up debris people and ask them if there is anyway they can do it at a later time even at night would be better after the guys are done. Just tell them anything they could do would be appreceated. Be real nice before you take on being mean. if you have no luck maybe have a reporter do a story on it and make fools our of these companies in the newspaper that may get there attention.

Good thing you are renting. You at least have an option, where those that own their homes don't. You can do one of two things. Purchase ear plugs or move. Ear plugs are pretty cheap, a lot cheaper than a major move. The ear plugs work very well, I used them when I lived in an apartment.

run a fan on high - it drowns out a ton of noise, and use ear plugs, too. not much else to do, i think. good luck.

i don't know about where you live, but here there are noise bylaws that specifically state what hours construction can start and stop, both on weekdays and weekends. i would go to your city's website and look up the bylaws.
